The Name:

As we all know Valentine's day is a celebration of love. It's named after a St. Valentine, a priest in Rome 270AD , that married couples. Roman Emperor, Claudius II declared marriage unlawful. St. Valentine continued to marry couples, He was placed in prison and later put to dead for his defiance of the Emperor.

The Rose:

It all started with the age of chivalry, To give your sweetheart a rose was a painful, if not fool hearty endeavor. All roses sold today are high breed tea roses. Roses today have been breed to have no or few thorns, Not so a few hundred years ago. A wild rose has tons of thorns, Up to 60 per inch. To pick a roses for your sweetheart was a painful and bloody experience. This is why Red Roses are associated with love, for the blood you shed. But more importantly it showed your courage (not only for fighting a rose bush, but to fight the more difficult path of temptation) and unwavering commitment to your loved one.

The Day:

	Your Wife/Girlfriend really wants to see you bring her the flowers, It shows that you thought about it and that you didn't panic at work and called the florist.
	Make a day out of it. If you can take the day off, Come in early and pick up the flower and then take her out. Shopping, Lunch or the museum. Make it fun, but do something she wants to do.
	Can't take the day off, then leave work early. Bring home flowers, Chocolates and dinner.
	Tell her you love her, call during the day and tell her you where thinking about her. A few kind works will always pay off in the end.
	Think unpredictable, She expects you to go to work, come home and act like it's a normal day. Don't - Spice things up, don't be predictable.
	Think long term, make that love that you share last all year long. Bring her roses, there not just for anniversaries and birthdays, Tell here you love her or she look good (even when she doesn't), Be unpredictable and think outside the box. The long term benefits to your relationship will be worth it.
